About

Workforce strategy works when the systems around it make execution possible.

Corework Systems is a workforce and talent advisory firm that helps organizations turn important workforce priorities into clearer decisions, stronger management practice, and operating systems that hold up in the real world.

We work with leaders who are trying to improve how their organizations hire, develop, deploy, and advance talent, especially when the strategy is clear but execution remains uneven.

Our work spans workforce and talent strategy, leadership and manager effectiveness, succession and mobility, skills-first transformation, AI-enabled workforce change, and the systems that connect those priorities to everyday decisions.

Why Corework exists

Organizations invest heavily in new workforce strategies, technologies, leadership programs, and talent practices. Too often, those investments struggle because the systems around them were never redesigned to support the change.

Ownership remains unclear. Managers are asked to execute new expectations without the right conditions. Job and skill structures do not match the strategy. Decision processes remain inconsistent. Measurement focuses on activity instead of whether the system is actually working.

Corework was built around a simple idea:

When strategy changes, the systems through which people make decisions and get work done have to change with it.

That is the work we help organizations do.

Principal-led. Expert-supported.

Corework is intentionally principal-led. Clients work directly with the senior advisor responsible for understanding the problem, shaping the work, facilitating the difficult conversations, and staying accountable for the quality of the engagement.

When an engagement calls for additional expertise or capacity, Corework brings in experienced leaders, educators, facilitators, researchers, designers, and talent practitioners whose capabilities fit the work. They bring experience across employers, workforce organizations, education, consulting, and leadership development, including:

Workforce & Talent Strategy Organizational Effectiveness Leadership & Manager Development Learning Design & Facilitation Skills-First Talent Practices Talent Acquisition & Mobility Research & Measurement Change & Implementation Workforce Technology & AI-Enabled Transformation

The specialists supporting an engagement are chosen based on the work itself, not a fixed staffing model. This keeps senior expertise close to the work while allowing Corework to assemble the right combination of capabilities for each engagement.

The goal is not to force every problem into one methodology. It is to understand what is getting in the way, identify where the system needs to change, and build a path forward that fits the organization.

Richard Dubuisson
Founder & Principal Advisor

For more than 25 years, Richard has worked at the intersection of employers, workforce systems, talent strategy, learning, and organizational change. His work has included building and scaling learning systems, advising employers on skills-first talent practices, developing leaders and managers, designing workforce strategies, and helping organizations translate ambitious ideas into practices that can work across teams and business units.

Before founding Corework Systems, Richard held senior leadership roles with OneTen, Grads of Life, and Year Up, where his work included advising major employers, building leadership and learning strategies, developing workforce and talent systems, and working with executives to improve how organizations make decisions about people and capability.

His work is grounded in a consistent question:

What has to be true inside the organization for the strategy to actually work?

That question continues to shape Corework's approach.

How we work

Corework starts with the problem the organization is trying to solve.

Sometimes that problem is clear: manager execution is inconsistent, succession decisions are difficult to defend, leadership capability is uneven, or a workforce strategy has stalled.

Other times, the symptoms are visible but the underlying cause is less obvious.

Our role is to help leaders understand what is happening, identify where the surrounding system is helping or getting in the way, and determine what should change first.

The result is work that is practical, specific to the organization, and designed to improve how decisions get made and how work actually gets done.
